[Mag 7 Stock Analysis Part.2] NVIDIA (NVDA) Future Outlook and July 2026 Profit-Taking Strategy

In Part.1, we looked at the turbulent stock price history of NVIDIA (Ticker: NVDA), from its beginnings as a simple gaming graphics card manufacturer, through the crypto and cloud eras, to leaping into the #1 global market cap company leading the current ChatGPT-driven AI revolution.

They say history repeats itself, but in the stock market, yesterday's correct answer cannot always be today's. Looking at NVIDIA's chart, which has shown phenomenal returns of hundreds of percent, there is probably only one thing investors are most curious about right now: "So, should I buy right now, or should I sell?"

Today, as the final installment of the NVIDIA edition in our Mag 7 stock analysis series, I will share my honest thoughts on the future market outlook surrounding NVIDIA, along with the specific selling and portfolio liquidation strategy I am personally executing.

1. NVIDIA's Future Outlook: Where Are We in the AI Cycle?

Currently, the market is sharply divided over NVIDIA's endless rally, with the 'AI bubble theory' clashing against the bullish view that 'we are still only in the early innings.' To analyze the future outlook objectively, we must point out two key factors.

① The Unstoppable CapEx (Capital Expenditure) Competition Among Big Tech

Big Tech companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and Meta are still pouring astronomical amounts of capital into building AI infrastructure. This is due to a sense of crisis that losing the initiative in the AI race could jeopardize their very existence. Demand for NVIDIA's next-generation AI chip architecture, 'Blackwell,' continues to overwhelm supply, and this is the core engine that will strongly support NVIDIA's earnings floor for at least the next 1 to 2 years.

② Expansion from the 'Training' to the 'Inference' Market

If the demand for 'training' massive AI models has driven NVIDIA's growth so far, the market is now expanding into the 'inference' stage, where AI is actually run in everyday life and corporate environments. As NVIDIA's ecosystem (CUDA) penetrates various industries such as software, autonomous driving, robotics, and digital twins, its position as a platform company—beyond simple hardware sales—is expected to solidify further.

2. Risk Factors That Must Never Be Ignored

Nevertheless, there is no such thing as a 100% safe, eternal market leader in the stock market. There are risk factors you must keep in mind when investing in NVIDIA.

  • Geopolitical Risks (The Taiwan Issue): NVIDIA only designs the chips; it relies entirely on Taiwan's TSMC for actual production. The intensification of US-China conflicts or instability in cross-strait relations is the biggest potential trigger that could deal a fatal blow to NVIDIA's supply chain.

  • Competitors' Pursuit and In-House Chip Development: Not only are traditional competitors like AMD catching up, but major Big Tech companies—NVIDIA's biggest customers—are also accelerating the development of their own AI chips (ASICs) to cut costs. This could act as a long-term margin pressure factor.

  • Elevated Market Expectations: Because market expectations are already extremely high, the stock price could undergo a massive correction at any time if future earnings reports slightly miss guidance or show any signs of slowing growth.

3. My Investment Strategy: July 2026, Controlling Greed and Locking in Profits

While it is important to analyze the macroeconomic view of the overall market and the excellent fundamentals of individual companies, the most important thing in investing, ultimately, is sticking to your own clear timeline and exit strategy.

While managing a portfolio focused on US tech stocks and various ETFs, I have set and am currently executing a plan to sell off my entire portfolio and liquidate to cash by the end of this month, July 2026. NVIDIA is also a core target of this selling strategy.

Why am I preparing to say goodbye to NVIDIA right now, while it is running at its all-time highs?

  1. Achieving Investment Goals and Opportunity Cost: NVIDIA has already exceeded the target return I expected within my portfolio. Holding onto a stock simply because 'it seems like it will go up more' is the point where investing crosses over into the realm of greed. I determined that securing profits without lingering regrets and securing cash within my planned timeframe (July) is the most certain risk management to prepare for upcoming market opportunities (or corrections).

  2. Preparing for Macroeconomic Uncertainty: As we move into the second half of the year, major macro events such as volatility in interest rate policies and the US presidential election are waiting. Historically, when a market-leading stock breaks, the drop is deeper and faster than expected. I want to let go of the greed of trying to sell at the exact top and accurately practice the adage of "buying at the knees and selling at the shoulders" right at this moment in July.

💡 Summary of Selling Philosophy No matter how great a company (NVIDIA) is, my investment journey and fund management plan (liquidation in July 2026) must take precedence over the short-term fluctuations of the company's stock price. Profits are not realized when they are just numbers sitting in an account; they are truly complete only when you press the sell button and hold the cash in your hands.

Even if NVIDIA goes on to reach a market cap of $4 trillion or $5 trillion in the future, I believe that is no longer my share to take. Rather, now is the time to lock in these sweet profits, take a step back, and afford the luxury of observing the trends of the other Mag 7 companies and new leading industries.

In the next post, I will return with the stock history and outlook of another Mag 7 giant, like Apple or Microsoft. Wishing you successful investments!
